Dr. Farrar is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology, Neurology, and Anesthesia in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include methodological issues related to the conduct and evaluation of clinical trials of the effects of drugs and other therapies used to treat pain. He also conducts pharmacoepidemiologic studies using large administrative and medical record databases. More recently, Dr. Farrar has been working with large FDA data sets to answer specific questions about design and analysis issues in pain clinical trials. He is also a Senior Scholar in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Co-directs its Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology program and Biostatistical Analysis Center.
